Talk and performance workshop by Santiago Cao
05/19/2017 – 05/13/2017
Talk and workshop around the devices of control of the bodies, the knowledge that restrict the potency of life and some possible tactics of resistance in public spaces. The practice of performance understood as a performative device capable of disorganizing the social body from its own knowledge in the search for new productions of subjectivity that enable other ways to think the city.
Deslave is a project space for the discussion and exhibition of contemporary art, with an emphasis on performative, digital and conceptual practices as well as experimentation on mediums and non-traditional modes of expression. The project maintains an interest to act as a collaborative platform for the generation of affection among those involved and the proposal of social or aesthetic concerns through a critical dialogue. Currently located in Tijuana, it is run by Mauricio Muñoz and Andrew Roberts.
